Throughout 5 years of operation, the company had expanded to 40 workers and their yearly sales volume had increased to 330 thousand dollars. Manufacture and design of the company's first hydraulic cylinder paved the way in Cascade's aggressive pursuit of new business opportunities. Over the past 60 years, the material handling business has grown into a highly advanced area and Cascade has proudly performed a part on this growth. In the nineteen fifties, Cascade began designing, fabricating and advertising hydraulic attachments. Manufacturing was done in the year 1956 on a new facility in order to house all the plant and office operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current center of operations. After 15 years of business, total staff reached 180 employees and sales had reached almost 2.3 million dollars.
1959 in Springfield, Ohio the next production plant was built. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary transfer into the international world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
In 1964, the company changed its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in the year 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing amenities throughout the continental US to the locations Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are fabricated internationally due to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office.
